I guess my ignorance is showing again (should have read more Steinbeck than I have, I suppose) but I'd never come across the term "Mulleygrubs" or any of the several variant spellings one can find if one Googles it... the only time I think I'd ever even heard anything similar to it was when turning over a big flagstone outside our house as a kid, and hearing a brother exclaim.... looky there, there must be a million grubs under there !

How do we end up with such glaring holes in our cultural education ? Being nearly half a century old and never having met the mulleygrubs. I guess this is one reason we blog, to fill in the gaps. Now I'm going to go find someone in a red dress and try to cheer her up...Owenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12622587942009516590noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6296096399220838318.post-35169154338406159072009-06-15T06:40:55.763-07:002009-06-15T06:40:55.763-07:00Not sure we get that programme over here.. yet. I digress... That's because I have been waiting for your professional comment on this latest show! Glad to hear she's got lines good enough to be funny.

Appropriately enough, I'm up and preparing to hit the ROAD for Arkansas, so maybe I'll meet up with Aunt Bertha and Uncle Frank as I wander the countryside visiting both the living and the dead--I gotta lotta dead in Arkansas.

So, if you don't see me for a while, just hum a few bars of "On the Road Again" or unfurl that Robert Frost "fork in the road poem." Although, knowing me, I'll probably be prone to following Yogi Berra's admonition to "take it, if I come to a fork in the road."

Happy Trails,La Framéricainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09879118710247405871noreply@blogger.com
