Sunday in CinCity. The Deja Vu Edition.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Amendment One of the Constitution of the United States of America

Excerpt from January 28, 2011, Remarks by President Obama on the Situation in Egypt:

"The people of Egypt have rights that are universal. That includes the right to peaceful assembly and association, the right to free speech, and the ability to determine their own destiny. These are human rights. And the United States will stand up for them everywhere."

with a thanks to Debra & From Skilled Hands for President Obama's quote

  1. Is this the do as I say and not as I do edition? I'm sure it's ok to protest, as long as it's not a banker we're picketing.

  2. exactly. It is a concern though to be bringing all the troops back with the job market and economy in the state they're in. Makes me wonder what we're in for if we don't plan better. That would require bipartisan work in DC. Unlikely.

  3. it's absolutely stunning. I had to post the 1st amendment, too, lest we forget.

  4. Thank you for being indignant in that artful way of yours...
