Dancing For One, Please

I'll be spending today in another hospital's waiting area while my mother has surgery. I've got books packed to take with me, comfy clothes to wear, a bottle of water, and a plan for lunch, but think I might want to take a pair of dancing shoes just in case...

  2. As far as I can tell, once you get the dancing shoes, you'll have everything and more than I ever took to one of those waiting events. Well, a granola bar might be good to add and, for the love of Christ, do not go in without a pair of earplugs. You absolutely never know what Muzak you may be required to block out if you want to enjoy that book! Hope your mama comes through with flying colors, ma chère Distracted friend.

  3. If there is a nearby Michaels, you could run out to buy needles, yarn and a book entitled, "I Taught Myself to Knit." This is exactly how I fell down this slippery slope.

Seriously though, I hope the surgery is minor and all goes well.

  4. DBSO -- I think you need to lighten the mood in the waiting area and jsut get them started! Call it self-care!

I hope surgery goes well -- sending healing thoughts.

Oh, and now I'll have to give Scrubs a try.

  7. Thanks for the well wishes. The Patient is tucked in bed, and I'm quick to follow and get some sleep before my shift tomorrow in the unit. She's doing well, but you'd never know that if you heard her:>)
