Saturday in CinCity...One Down, Two To Go.

It's spring recital time at the CinCity Dance Academy as it is in many other cities throughout the country and HoneyHaired has been wished by many to "break a leg." Recitals, graduations, weddings, baby showers...We in the Distracted household are doing our best to keep the economy stimulated with purchases of flowers, photos, DVD's and meals on wheels.

Anyway...one performance last night. Two today. Then the hair freezing glue can go back into the closet to be lost for another year until the challenge of the ballet bun arises anew.

  1. Now that right there's why I'm glad to live so far from my family (they're in NC). A word & a check to my SIL (an affirmed shopaholic) and all my shower needs are covered. Except now that I'm older I'd actually like to participate - go to my niece's dance recital. Sigh. Hard to do from 8 hours away...

  2. Yeah, going out, celebrating, spending, indulging, keeping life going and creating.

  3. A ballerina in the family! Envy envy envy. What will she be performing?

I hear you on the many celebrations this time of the year. It's bliss for me, a wannabe professional recital attendee!

    Enjoy!

  4. That reminds me how much I am NOT running around to graduation parties now that my two guys are semi-independent 20-somethings. Hmmm . . . there's an open invitation to a graduation party for a young man in my religious community - beautiful end-of-May sparkling day - perhaps I'll go!

  5. Oooo, the land of tutus and toe points. Sounds very sweet. I still have a dance recital outfit that is older than I care to admit. I keep trying to get my great-niece to try it on and she just gives me one of "those" looks. I don't know what her problem is. The outfit is this blazing hot orange and has a jaunty little hat (tap, not ballet).

  6. Have been missing the band concerts and all of the end-of-the-school-year flurry. New lifestage, new excitements (I just don't get to share them--this is probably a good thing). Best of luck to your daughter.

  8. Those are great days. I remember helping one of my older daughters get ready for her recitals every year. At the time all that running here and there is crazy, but the memories are pure fun minus the crazy...and don't forget the attic full of costumes for the grands someday! Have fun! :)

  9. Just tonight we watched (finally) Benjamin Button and the glimpses into the dancing life swept me away. I'm happy for HoneyHaired that she dances. May it always be so.

  10. I'm exhausted just reading about it!....lol.. it's worth all the rush though, I'm still waiting to find out what my kid is going to be into..(and am hoping it won't remain pony orientated..) Famous last words... lol

  11. How wonderful to have a dancer for a daughter. Right now, we are pretty busy with my son the baseball pitcher. My oldest son is graduating high school Friday, and we are bracing ourselves for the waves of family visiting from out of town (I must confess I am looking forward to seeing some more than others).
