December's End. Forecast for Snow.
"Some people love waking to the sight of new snow. Fallen snow is fine, but I like the sight of it falling, fine as dust or so fat you can hear it land against the kitchen window. I like the tunnel of dry snow you drive through at night, the headlights blanking out a few yards ahead, and the feeling that you're driving into some abysmal vacuum. I like the ground-blizzards and the snow that slithers down the road ahead of you. What I like is the visual impairment snow brings with it, the way it obscures some things and defines others, like the wind." - ---Verlyn Klinkenborg from The Rural Life
Flying pigs are my favorite- been collecting them for years- but what does that say about the runners?
ReplyDeleteSo when it's done, they can say that the swine flew?
ReplyDeleteexcellent:>) I'll let you know if the newscasters are as witty. I'm betting they're not.
ReplyDeleteHey, you know how to party too.
ReplyDeleteDebra-LOLOLOL. Very good!
ReplyDeletemmmmmmm...bacon. enjoy your sunday, jack c
ReplyDeleteI personally don't understand this need - but if it does it for you - than go for it. May the best person win.
ReplyDeleteWe're having our big Bloomsday race here in Spokane. My son is doing it, but I am much better at carb loading than I am at actually running, so I'm staying home.
ReplyDeletethe carbo loading sounds more fun, for sure...
ReplyDeleteBring on the carbs...
ReplyDeletethanks, you made me laugh (ah, the carbo loading!) And so did your commentors!
ReplyDeleteGood job, Debra, swine flew!!! I'm with Distracted and Kirti though, I think I prefer carbo loading...that is a race I could finish!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks for the visit and encouragement; I'm humbled. :)
The Flying Novel H1N1 race just wouldn't have the same ring now would it?
ReplyDeleteAnd Debra, I heard NOT ONE newscaster say the swine flew at the race and I listened to the 6pm AND 11pm broadcasts. You are truly a comic genius:>)
